QR Code Generator

Create QR codes for URLs, text and more, and download them as PNG or SVG. Free, never expires.

Enter some content to generate a QR code.

Everything is processed in your browser. Nothing is sent to our servers.

Guide

Key points

  • Save PNG for screens, SVG for print — it stays sharp at any size.
  • Don't crop the white margin (4 modules) around the code.
  • Test-scan a real-size print before printing in bulk.

Create and save a QR code

  1. Type a URL or text into Content — the code updates instantly.
  2. Choose size, colors and error correction.
  3. Download PNG for web pages and documents, or SVG for print, since it scales without losing sharpness.

The content is encoded directly in the code, so it never expires and doesn’t depend on our servers — but it also can’t be edited later. If the destination might change, encode a short URL you control.

Error correction levels

  • L (~7%): screens, or when the content is long
  • M (~15%, default): most uses
  • Q (~25%): printed material and outdoor signage
  • H (~30%): when placing a logo in the middle or expecting scratches and dirt

Higher levels survive more damage but make the pattern denser, which can hurt small prints.

Printing tips

  • Quiet zone: keep at least 4 modules of blank margin around the code. Downloads already include it — don’t crop it off.
  • Contrast: dark modules on a light background scan best. Inverted or low-contrast colors fail on many scanners.
  • Size: at least 2 × 2 cm; for posters, about one tenth of the scanning distance.
  • Length: shorter content means fewer modules and easier scanning.

Test before you share

Scan the code with a phone’s built-in camera, ideally on both iPhone and Android, and do a test print at the real size before printing in bulk.

FAQ

Do these QR codes expire?

No. The content is encoded directly in the code and doesn't depend on any server.

Can I change the link later?

No. If the destination may change, encode a URL you control and redirect it.

Can I count scans?

These codes have no tracking. Add UTM parameters to your URL and check your own analytics instead.
