What is a CV of Failures?
A CV of failures lists the jobs, awards and applications you didn't get. Scientist Melanie Stefan proposed it in a 2010 column in Nature, and it went viral in 2016 when Princeton professor Johannes Haushofer published his own.
Because other people's CVs only show their successes, it's easy to feel your failures are unique. A CV of failures shows how many attempts sit behind every success.
FAQ
Is my input saved?
No. Everything runs inside your browser; nothing is sent to or stored on a server.
Can I submit this as a real CV?
It's made for fun and reflection, though it is a handy way to prepare for "tell me about a failure" interview questions.
How are EXP and job title decided?
Each category adds a fixed amount of EXP, and your title rises from Intern to Chief Failure Officer as your failure count grows. The more you fail, the more you get promoted.
