How to play

1. Press an arrow key (or W, A, S, D), or swipe the board. Every tile slides as far as it can.
2. When two tiles with the same number collide, they merge into one with double the value. A tile can merge only once per move.
3. After every move a new 2 (90%) or 4 (10%) appears in an empty cell.
4. Make a 2048 tile to win — then choose “Keep going” to chase bigger numbers.
5. The game ends when the board is full and no neighboring tiles match.

Scoring

Each merge adds the value of the new tile to your score: merging two 8s scores 16, two 1024s score 2048.

Strategy

• Keep your biggest tile in one corner and never move it out.
• Mostly use two directions (say, down and left), a third only when needed, and avoid the one that pulls your big tile out of the corner.
• Build a row from the corner in descending order so merges chain together.
• Don’t let small tiles scatter across the board — think about where the next tile will appear.
