Guide
Key points
- A game where kids pay the exact price using only the money in the wallet.
- The fewest pieces earns a bonus point, and levels get harder as you go.
- Pairs with Make Change Challenge to practice both sides of a purchase.
How to play
- Look at the price — say, a snack for 60¢.
- Tap coins and bills in the wallet to put them on the counter. You can only use what’s in the wallet, each once.
- When the counter matches the price exactly, you’ve got it!
With two quarters and a dime in the wallet, 60¢ takes just 3 coins. Without quarters you’d need lots of dimes and nickels. Paying with the fewest pieces earns a bonus point.
What kids learn
- Adding different coins and bills to make an amount
- Working with what you have — no big coin? Combine small ones
- Practice for paying at a real shop
For parents
Make Change Challenge is about giving money back; this game is about paying. Playing both covers both sides of a purchase. Practice mode has a hint that tells how few pieces are enough.
FAQ
Is there always an exact answer?
Yes. The wallet always holds a combination that makes the exact price, plus a piece or two you don't need.
Where is the best score saved?
Only in this browser. The game asks for no name or personal data and sends nothing to a server.
How is it different from Make Change Challenge?
There, you can use any coins but must work out the change. Here, the amount is shown, but you can only use the coins in the wallet, so you have to find a combination that works.
