Photo Privacy Eraser

Hide faces, license plates, addresses and phone numbers with mosaic, blur or black boxes, and strip GPS location and other metadata. Your photo is never uploaded.

Everything is processed in your browser. Nothing is sent to our servers.

Guide

Key points

  • Hide faces, plates, addresses and numbers with mosaic, blur or black boxes.
  • Saved photos contain no GPS location, device or other metadata.
  • Your photo is processed in the browser and never uploaded.

How to use it

  1. Choose a photo — the tool first tells you whether it contains GPS location or other metadata.
  2. Pick mosaic, blur or black box and drag over each area to hide. Add as many as you need.
  3. Use Undo to remove the last area.
  4. “Save redacted photo” writes a new file with the areas hidden and all metadata removed.

What to hide

  • Faces — especially children and people who didn’t agree to be posted
  • License plates, home or work addresses, apartment numbers, shipping labels
  • Phone numbers, ID, account and card numbers, barcodes and QR codes
  • ID badges, screens, building names visible through windows

Hidden metadata (EXIF)

Phone photos carry invisible data such as GPS coordinates, the time taken and the device model. Posting the original can reveal where you live. Photos saved here are redrawn from scratch, so none of that is kept.

Tips

  • Use a black box for text and numbers — light mosaic or blur can sometimes be read or reversed.
  • For faces, use Medium or Strong mosaic.
  • Drag a little wider than the area you want to hide.

FAQ

Is my photo uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser; the photo never leaves your device.

Which is safer, mosaic or black box?

A black box is safest for text and numbers. Light mosaic or blur can sometimes be reversed.

My iPhone photo won't open.

Some browsers can't read HEIC. Export it as JPG, or set Settings → Camera → Formats → Most Compatible.

I only want to remove the location.

Just tap Save without marking any areas — you get the same photo with all metadata, including GPS, removed.
